Business Developer for SCCC/Project manager
Chalmers Industriteknik is co-hosting the newly formed Swedish Chips Competence Centre (SCCC). We are looking for a project manager to drive development and collaborate with startups & SME:s!
In the ever-evolving landscape of technology, the European semiconductor ecosystem stands as a crucial pillar of progress. At the heart of this dynamic field lies the Chips Joint Undertaking (Chips JU), a pioneering initiative committed to catalysing research, development, and manufacturing capabilities in semiconductors across Europe.
Here, Chalmers Industriteknik is co-hosting the newly formed Swedish Chips Competence Centre (SCCC) and we are currently expanding in our great team with a Business Developer. You will be part of a team working from three nodes in Sweden and cooperating through all of Europe.
SCCC is Sweden’s hub for semiconductor expertise, connecting businesses, researchers, and innovators to cutting-edge technology, training, and support. As part of the European Network of Chips Competence Centres (ENCCC), SCCC bridge the gap between advanced research and market deployment, helping Swedish and European companies thrive in the semiconductor industry.

About the role / Key Responsibilities
The business developer will work close to startups, small and medium-sized companies in semiconductors to:
- Act as a bridge between industry, academia, and institutes
- Support the Directors of SCCC in their daily work
- Support startups and SMEs in developing their business including access to venture capital
- Mapping innovation systems and platforms
- Building innovation networks / ecoystem and identifying stakeholders
You will initially mainly be working with SCCC as a business developer, but other tasks and projects will come over time. Chalmers Industriteknik works with similar tasks within eco-systems for other deeptech areas such as quantum technology and graphene. The tasks may also include application writing for future public funding as well as attracting and executing commercial assignments.

The position requires a broad understanding of market sectors, value chains, customer groups and technology suppliers. We value experience from international cooperation and the ability to manage several different projects at the same time.
You are an engaged individual with a passion for innovation and technology. You have a solid understanding of complex technical issues and the ability to navigate interdisciplinary collaborations. Your proactive and solution-oriented approach allows you to thrive in dynamic environments where you can drive projects forward. You excel at building relationships and communicating complex ideas in a clear and engaging manner.
Qualifications and abilities
- Project management and multi-stakeholder project
- Industrial applications in semi-conductors, electronics or similar areas
- International high-tech collaborations
- Awareness of the innovation process
- Networking Skills: Ability to connect with potential clients, partners, and stakeholders to expand business relationships
- Fluent in english - swedish is not a must, just as long as you have the interest in learning
It is preferred if you also have:
- A technical background, at least MSc in areas relevant to semiconductors and chips
- Research Skills: Ability to gather, analyze, and synthesize information to support outreach initiatives
- Entrepreneurial skills or start-up experience
- Good understanding of commercialization of innovations
- Knowledge of the Swedish and European triple helix innovation system

Form of employment: Permanent, starting with a 6-month probation period
Location: Gothenburg, next to Chalmers in Johanneberg. We offer a hybrid working model
